ABOUT HILLSBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT

We are a high-tech proactive department focused on providing our community with comprehensive police
service. We accomplish this by keeping our officers well trained, sending them to modernized trainings across
the county. As policing changes, so do we.

DIVISIONS

PATROL

The Patrol Division at the Hillsboro Police Department strives to ensure the safety of the community. With the fundamentals of community policing at the forefront, officers implement proactive patrols and active motor vehicle enforcement to achieve the goal of putting the community first.

CID (CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION)

The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) acts as an integral part to support and complement the Patrol Division. With vast resources and specialized training, detectives and members of CID are responsible for managing complex investigations.

COMMUNICATIONS

Hillsboro Police Dispatch currently provides 24/7 communication operations for 5 towns including Hillsboro; Antrim, Bennington, Deering, and Washington. In 2022 Hillsboro Dispatch took 1,388 911 emergency calls and handled a total of 30,624 calls. Prior to the location now on Municipal Drive, dispatch previously worked out of a windowless small room at the old police station, now the fire station on Central Street.

K-9 UNIT

The K9 Unit at Hillsboro Police Department is a specialized team dedicated to searching for narcotics in various situations, including vehicles and search warrant executions. This highly trained K9 team has been instrumental in assisting with locating individuals in distress or those attempting to flee from law enforcement.
