RECRUITMENT OF RI CERTIFIED OFFICERS

APPLICATION PERIOD:

Monday, January 23, 2023 until Tuesday, February 21, 2023

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be an active P.O.S.T. certified Police Officer in the State of Rhode Island to apply
  • Must be 21 years of age by the end of the application period
  • Must possess at least a H.S. or G.E.D diploma
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must have the ability to pass a physical examination, a drug screen, a psychological evaluation (post-employment), an oral examination and a comprehensive background investigation (pre-employment)

How to Apply (must be submitted by 2/21/2023)

  • Complete an application via PoliceApp.com
  • Attach a copy of P.O.S.T certificate or proof of active status as a Rhode Island Police Officer
  • Provide a copy of valid Driver’s license
  • Provide a copy of birth certificate
  • Provide a copy of H.S./G.E.D. diploma (or higher Education)
  • Provide a copy of a DD-214 military form, if applicable

Selection Process

Applicants meeting all application and minimum requirements may be invited to participate in a formal oral examination process. The oral exam process will be 100% of the final examination score with a minimum passing score of 70% on the oral examination.

Candidates who pass the oral examination and initial background check will be placed on a 2-year eligibility register in rank order of the final examination score and veteran’s points.
