Borough of Oceanport Police Department
Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer

 

The Borough of Oceanport, NJ is now accepting applications for Class II Special Law Enforcement Officers to work 20 to 25 hours per week along with extra duty assignments. These positions may lead to full-time Police Officer positions within the Oceanport Police Department.

Applicants Requirements:
• A current New Jersey Police Training Commission SLEO II Certification from an accredited
police academy.
• Waiver eligible Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer.
• A valid New Jersey Driver’s License and,
• Meet all qualifications of N.J.S.A 40A:14-146 et seq.
• Should not be under contract/employment obligation with another agency.


Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license, have a high school diploma, read, and write the English language proficiently, be of sound moral character, be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, medical examination, psychological examination, drug screening and oral interview. The right candidate is a highly motivated, well organized, self-directed professional who embraces new challenges and collaborates well with others and exhibits excellent oral and written communication skills.
