Applications are now being accepted for the position of Certified Police Officer with the Connecticut State Capitol Police Department. Applicants must be CT Post Certified to be considered. State Capitol Police Officers patrol a seventeen-acre campus in Downtown Hartford, including the State Capitol and Legislative Office Buildings, garages, and supporting State offices. We work in partnership with the City of Hartford and State Police Departments. Applications will be accepted until vacancies are filled; the SCPD will develop an eligibility list for certified officer openings. Applications are available to be filled out at www.policeapp.com
The State Capitol Police Department's testing process includes but is not limited to: Written Test ( must receive 70% to pass), Oral Board, Chief's Interview, Background Investigation, Polygraph Examination, Psychological Examination, Physical Agility Test, and Medical Examination with screening for illegal drugs.
