CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICERS

The Township of Washington Police Department has a full time Police Officer position available immediately. Applying candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Is a citizen of the United States.
  • Is a resident of New Jersey and possesses a valid NJ driver’s license.
  • Is able to read, write and speak the English language well and intelligently
  • Has a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). (Please upload your higher education transcripts at application time.)
  • Is of good moral character and sound body, and in good health.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old.
  • Has not been convicted of any offense involving dishonesty or which would make the person unfit to perform the duties of the office.

Preference will be given to candidates that contain any of the following criteria:

  • NJ Police Training Commission certified for Police Officer, or SLEO2 with possibly of waiver.
  • Experience as a full-time police officer
  • Associates Degree or higher, or Military experience with Honorable Discharge
  • Bilingual or Spanish speaking.
