The Borough of Madison is accepting applications for a per-diem Public Safety Telecommunications Officer in the Madison Police Department. Hourly rate is $22.50 per hour with no health benefits or eligibility for pension. Responsibilities include recording telephone communications, receiving and relaying radio messages to various vehicles/personnel, other duties as assigned. Requirements: HS Diploma or GED (Associates Degree or higher preferred), 3 years experience in public safety telecommunications; Current NJ approved Basic Telecommunicator certificate a MUST; ability to speak and understand Spanish a plus. No phone calls. ADA/EOE
SALARY:
• Per-diem hourly rate $22.50 [no benefits]
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be a citizen of the United States
• Must possess a high school diploma, or equivalency
• Must be of good moral character
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must not have been convicted of a crime
• Must possess a valid New Jersey driver's license
• Ability to handle shift work including weekends & holidays
• Ability to multitask
• Reliable transportation in all types of weather
• Successfully pass a comprehensive background check
• Proficient in typing
