NORWALK POLICE DEPARTMENT

CONNECTICUT CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICERS ONLY
The Norwalk Police Department is seeking Connecticut POSTC Certified Police Officers with a minimum 2 years certification (2 years from completion of FTO and all POSTC requirements) to fill current and future job openings. We are seeking enthusiastic, proactive officers with a good understanding of community-based policing, who to take pride and ownership in their work and the community they serve.

CERTIFIED OFFICER POSITION MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POSTC) certified current and in good standing.
- Minimum two years’ experience from certification date
- No felony convictions
- No Class A or Class B misdemeanor convictions
- No Domestic Violence convictions
- No act of perjury or false statement
- Not dismissed from any former law enforcement unit for malfeasance or other serious misconduct (or resigned or retired while under investigation for same)
- Upon hiring - Residence within 40 miles of police headquarters
- Pass an employment psychological and polygraph examination
- Pass a comprehensive medical exam and drug screen
- Vision -Corrected 20/30 - Uncorrected 20/100
- No tattoos on or above the neck, or on hands (*exceptions apply)
