PALISADES PARK POLICE DEPARTMENT
IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR
NJ PTC CERTFIED POLICE OFFICER
(Three or four immediate openings are available.)
The Palisades Park Police Department is seeking candidates for the position of police officer. Applications are now being accepted until EXTENDED to October 15, 2024. He or she must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, have mature and innovative approaches to collaborating with citizens on neighborhood issues, have strong problem solving skills, the ability to work under stressful conditions and demonstrate a history of community service. In an effort to match the community we serve; additional consideration will be given to candidates who are bilingual/trilingual. Applicants must possess NJ PTC certification or be NJ PTC certified upon date of hire. No SLEO Class I or II will be considered.

ABOUT PALISADES PARK
- Population of 21,000
- Approximately 20,000 calls for service annually
- Located approximately 2 miles from the George Washington Bridge
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be between 21 and 35 years of age
- Must possess an NJPTC LAW ENFORCENENT OFFICE LICENSE
- Meet the requirements of and be eligible for membership in the PFRS
- Read, write and speak English
- Be of good moral character
- Free of conviction of a crime constituting an indictable offense or any crime or offense involving moral turpitude
- Must pass an oral interview, drug test examination and meet essential job functions.
- Possess a valid NJ Driver License
TESTING REQUIREMENTS
- First interview by the Command staff and selected borough officials. Second interview to be determined.
- Writing assignment may be requested at the time of interview
