POST CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER

   The Town of Thomaston is accepting applications from POST Certified Police Officers (Lateral) for the position of Police Officer.  There are currently (2) full-time positions available. Applicants must be a resident of CT, possess a valid CT driver’s license at time of appointment, and possess a valid and active CT POST Certification OR an active Connecticut State Police Trooper in good standing. 

   Applicants will be required to sit for an Oral Panel Examination, take a written examination, and be subject to an extensive background investigation. Said investigation will include, but not necessarily limited to, Polygraph, Psychological, Medical Evaluation, Military/Employment personnel record review, and Chiefs interviews. 

  Starting Salary $ 72,028.00 (Grade B Pay Laterals) The Town of Thomaston offers a competitive salary and benefits package including paid sick time, fourteen paid holidays, paid vacation, 457B with the Town matching contributions 100% of 5% of wages, bid shifts, and a 4-2 schedule for Patrol Officers. Lateral Hires are brought in at Grade (B) rate of pay and 120hrs of vacation time.
