Telecommunications Specialist

• DEPARTMENT: Sheriff's Office
• PAY RATE: $25.00/ hr. 
• LOCATION: Sheriff's Office- Goffstown
• SCHEDULE: Full time- 40 Hours Per Week- Nights, Weekends, & Holidays

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

The position of Telecommunications Specialist is a non-sworn position and is responsible for the efficient operation of a multi-agency emergency dispatch center. This position is responsible for receiving and dispatching emergency and non­ emergency calls for service by telephone, radio, and/or computer, providing information to first responders and to the public, and operating the NCIC/SPOTS terminal.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

The successful candidate must be of good moral character, have good communication skills, possess the ability to multi­ task, work efficiently under pressure, exercise good common sense and be able to analyze situations quickly and objectively.

Candidates must be a United States Citizen and be a minimum of I 8 years of age, must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and possess typing skills.

The hiring process may consist of the following; written examination; oral interview; background investigation; psychological test; medical examination, agency interview(s) and other test as deemed necessary to determine his/her fitness for the position, and successfully complete a probationary period.
