Greenfield Police Department is now accepting Applications all year!  Once a position is available we will contact applicants about the next steps. The Physical Agility and Written Tests will be conducted on Saturday, October 19th at 8 a.m.  Qualifying applicants will receive further communication.  Secondary Applications must be completed by October 13th at 11:59 p.m. to be invited to testing.

We will accept lateral candidates with this process.  Lateral candidates are ILEA Tier 1 certified or have equivalent certification from another state.  Lateral Applicants will complete the physical agility test but not the written test.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Must be US Citizen
  2. Must be at least 21 years of age, but not older than 39 at the time of appointment
  3. High School Diploma or GED
  4. Must have a valid Indiana Driver's License
  5. No felony convictions
  6. Must be able to possess firearms

SALARY for 2024:

  • Probationary: $63,815.98 (until completion of FTO)
  • Lateral Hires: Up to $70,247.34 (with 3 or more years of service, after FTO)
  • $5,000 Max Longevity Yearly ($250/year of service at GPD)

 

JOB DESCRIPTION/GENERAL DUTIES:

Incumbent serves as Patrol Officer for the Greenfield Police Department, responsible for enforcing federal, state, and local laws. Serving and protecting individuals, their rights, and property.  Building stronger community relationships daily.
