Salary:

  • $129,226 Top Pay For Police Officers
    $61,016 Non-Certified (While attending the Police Academy)
    $70,403 NJ PTC Certified

Schedule:

  • Enjoy a 4 days on, 3 days off schedule
  • Shifts consist of 10-hour days

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive benefits package as per collective bargaining agreement
  • Includes major medical health plan, prescription plan, dental insurance, and group life insurance under the Police & Fire Retirement System

Academy/Field Training Program:

  • Police Training Commission candidates undergo a probationary period of one year from employment
  • Non-Police Training Commission candidates undergo a probationary period of one year from graduation from a certified Police Academy
  • Completion of a sixteen-week Field Training Program post-academy graduation
  • NJ Transit Police Officers serve statewide, fully certified by the NJ Division of Criminal Justice, Police Training Commission
  • Candidates must be willing to accept assignments throughout New Jersey
