About Our Agency

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is a state accredited public safety agency in Walton County, Florida. Our agency provides careers for approximately 600 people, including over 250 sworn deputies and over 100 firefighter/EMTs and firefighter/paramedics.

WCSO provides full-time law enforcement services to all four law enforcement districts in Walton County and provides protection for the Walton County Courthouse and the Walton County Courthouse Annex in South Walton. WCSO also provides protection to schools in Walton County through our School Resource Deputy unit.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is comprised of the following five divisions:

 

Law Enforcement

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office exists to serve and protect our community and its citizens with the utmost physical and moral courage. Walton County Sheriff’s deputies are committed to ensuring our community is a safe place to live, work and visit.

Jail Operations

The Walton County Jail is dedicated to providing safe confinement for those arrested and or convicted of a crime. In an attempt to reduce recidivism, the Walton County Jail offers multiple programs providing inmates with the opportunity to learn a new trade.

Fire Rescue

Walton County Fire Rescue is committed to protecting the life and property of the residents and guests of Walton County through proactive, professional and compassionate Fire and EMS services, including pre-hospital care, fire suppression and rescue services.

Animal Services

The Walton County Animal Shelter is dedicated to providing a safe, temporary shelter for lost, homeless and abandoned animals while the staff searches for their rightful owners or finds them a permanent home through adoption or transfers to local animal rescues.

Communications

The Walton County Communications Center provides quick, effective dispatching services for county-wide law enforcement services provided by WCSO deputies, animal control services, and fire rescue services north of Choctawhatchee Bay.
