Certified Public Safety Telecommunicator

The City of Meriden is accepting applications for the position of Certified Public Safety Dispatcher. All interested candidates must be certified as a Connecticut Public Safety Dispatcher. A strong working knowledge of CAD/RMS systems is desirable and the ability to multi-task between phone, radio and computer systems is essential.
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, have a strong interest in serving the public, and willing to work a variety of shifts including weekends, midnights and holidays. - Preferred Qualifications
- Certification training in Priority Dispatch/International Academy EMD, EPD, and EFD.
- Experience using ProQA Software
- Experience using Nexgen CAD
- COLLECT/NCIC Certification

- Hourly Rate: Range $27.80 - $31.64 per hour
- Shift differential 7.5% for evening shift
- Shift differential 8.5% for midnight shift
- $4,000 certification bonus, payable at $2,000 after six months and $2,000 after 12 months
