POLICE OFFICER

Are you passionate about serving your community and ensuring its safety? Join our team as a Patrol Officer at the Eastham Police Department and play a vital role in community engagement and safety.
 
The Eastham Police Department has two (2) vacancies for Patrol Officers, thanks to the citizens’ support for these new positions at the Town Meeting & Election.
 
As a Patrol Officer, you will be responsible for efficiently performing various duties in compliance with the rules, regulations, and policies outlined by Eastham Police Department. Your duties will include general police responsibilities aimed at ensuring the stability and safety of the community (see job description).
 
The positions are full-time, 40-hour per week Patrol Officers that will bring the Department to 19 full-time officers. The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 21 years of age, have a valid Massachusetts Driver License, and possess or be able to obtain a MA license to carry a firearm. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, however those with equivalent training, experience or other positive attributes will be considered. The candidate must pass a battery of physical, psychological and drug tests, along with an extensive background investigation, and be able to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Police Officer. Experienced MPTC/POST certified Police Officers are encouraged to apply for lateral transfer.
 
The position offers competitive salary and health insurance payment percentage, desirable “5 on, 3 off” schedule and opportunities for growth. The starting salary range for new officers is $64,297 to $82,236 based on education and experience.
