Portsmouth Police Department, NH Public Safety Jobs

The Portsmouth Police Department offers one or two internships annually.  One during the school year and/or one during the summer months.  We are proud of the fact that several of our interns have found their careers with us following their college graduation.

Our interns are exposed to day to day city law enforcement as well as a variety of special teams and departments including but not limited to the Investigative Division, K-9 Unit, SERT operations, Drone Team, etc.  Interns will have opportunities to participate in ride-alongs with our officers on any of our four shifts.

Various internship expectations also include administrative and clerical tasks (copying, filing, organizing etc.), research and analysis, and any other project assigned to them by their direct supervisor.

Candidates selected for internship must pass a background investigation, sign confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, as well as complete Criminal Justice Information Services Security Awareness Training.  Additionally required is a confirmation letter from the college or university approving participation in our program.
