The Derry Fire Department is strongly supported by a vibrant community, is an ISO 3/3y, CAAS Accredited department that that responds to over 5000 Fire and EMS calls annually. The DFD operates out of four stations with a daily shift staffing of 16 firefighter/EMTs and firefighter/paramedics. Line personnel work a shift schedule of 24 hours on duty with 72 hours off duty. All operations personnel are dual-role cross-trained; staffing an ALS ambulance, a Paramedic Engine, and/or a Truck Company. The Derry Fire Department offers regular full-time employees excellent pay, tuition reimbursement and benefits. We pride ourselves on a bottom-up management style that encourages firefighters to become leaders and decision makers in all aspects of the fire department including emergency medicine, technical rescue, emergency management, continuous quality improvement, training, and safety.
