ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER

The City of Danbury Police Department will be seeking Entry Level Police Officers.
This mission of the Danbury Police Department is to provide an environment for the people of Danbury that is free from the fear of crime, where people can enjoy a high quality of life and a community that can prosper. The Danbury Police Department is dedicated to delivering the finest community oriented police services to the people of Danbury. In partnership with the community, we will prevent and deter crime, enforce laws, maintain order and safety and be visible and accessible to all we serve. Police Officers are responsible for the preservation of public peace, the protection of life and property, the prevention of crime and the proper enforcement of all laws and ordinances.
Applicants must pass a battery of tests including but not limited to a written exam and a physical. The City of Danbury encourages qualified women and minorities to apply.
Important Testing Pre-Requisites:
All applicants will be required to pass the CPCA (Connecticut Police Chief's Association) Entry Level Police Officer Examination with a score of 70% or above, as well has have a valid C.H.I.P card in order to submit your application.
It is strongly advised that you plan accordingly and register for these exams so you don't miss this exciting opportunity!

Register for the C.H.I.P Physical Agility Examination
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- At least 21 years of age by the application closing date
- U.S. Citizen
- 20/50 vision in each eye, correctable to 20/20 in each eye and normal hearing without use of any hearing aid or device
No Felony, Class A or Class B Misdemeanor Convictions
If you do not meet the minimum requirements, your application will not be accepted by the Civil Service Commission nor will you receive a refund of your application fees.
